Embedded in the message of Christianity is the belief that we
can have direct, ongoing experiences with the living God.
The Christian faith offers a vital,
life-giving spiritual relationship with God through Jesus Christ
and the indwelling Holy Spirit.
We come to know the presence of God, the love of
Jesus Christ, and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Using our
spiritual senses, we learn to function as spiritual men and
women who know the will of God for our lives.
Offering not mere conformity to a set of rules,
true Christianity means inner transformation and a new
heart.
Like St. Paul, we need to pray for the Spirit of
wisdom and revelation, asking that the eyes of our heart
be opened (Ephesians 1:17-18).
